National Museum Website Designed for Aspergers

Web

Many people with the Asperger´s syndrome, sometimes do not have the best needed experience, when they visit museums due to the crowds of people or the sheer amount of information, so digital museums can be the best alternative solution. This website was created, for my bachelor’s degree thesis, which aimed to evaluate the accessibility of existing digital museums, through interviews with Aspergers and people without the syndrome. After these, a new website of the National Museum of Greece, was designed and developed, in order to offer the best possible experience and accessibility to people with Asperger. The website offers alternative solutions for finding everything they are looking for, different ways of navigation, and face-forward search and language button. It also makes use of images, navigation tables, instructions, bullet points, videos, interactive elements, and descriptive titles. All these were some of the changes from the existing website that helped the new prototype to become more accessible. The final website’s interface doesn't differ much from websites designed for non-Aspergers, in order to be accessible not only for Aspergers, but appealing and easy to access for all people.
