Pomegranate Seeds

This is a short film inspired by the poem of Sarah Kane, called Psychosis 4:48. The film contains a lot of symbols about the obstacles of life that the girl is going through in life. It is a poem about depression, low self-esteem that leads to suicide. The pomegranate is a symbol of all these feelings, since it is hard to peel, and hard not to have your hands dirty in the process, just like life, which inevitably is hard. It is a symbol of life and death, love and hate, lost faith and blood. In the beginning, the film starts in a valley, a hollywood symbol of happiness, joy, family and dream. Sarah’s life was never a path of happiness, that’s why she is trying to cut the pomegranate, with a knife, which symbolizes the tries of accepting reality. Her hands get reddy, the pomegranate, is very hard to get cut, and the pressure she puts, is like her heart which is ready to explode. The film ends with the girl dancing in the valley, with the sound of the time of her following death, starting to get louder. Suicide is the only relief in her pain.
