Posthumous Portrait of George Dyer

This short film was inspired by Francis Bacon’s painting, “Posthumous Portrait of George Dyer”. Francis, created this triptych painting, to honor his beloved husband, who committed suicide, through an overdose of drink. The three paintings, show Dyer, shortly before his death, who always pose for Francis. The film, gives life to the triptych, and shows George alive, moving slowly, sitting on the chair, drinking coffee and posing in the mirror. All the set up was built from scratch, and there was a try of representing the painting as accurately as possible. The short film, was shot during COVID-19 quarantine, in 2020.
