On our module of Social Design we had to organize and design a campaign for a social issue on the island of Cyprus.
I choose to study and raise awareness for the cultural heritage of the abandoned buildings in Cyprus which carry many historical, architectural and personal stories which are getting lost on the advent of demolition and the uncontrollable building of skyscrapers. The project is called re-story and it’s a pun from the word restore and history. The core of the campaign was the design of an application where the people can upload photos and stories of the buildings of Cyprus.
So, even if a building would be demolished it’s story and history would never get lost and a digital archive of the architecture of Cyprus would be created.
On the app the users can share stories with other users and easily track a story from a building with the use of the map.
In addition, for the further promotion of the campaign posters, motion graphics, an information booklet and further branding materials as tote bags and stickers were designed.
